Grade K-6 | Elementary Student Studio Workshops

Elementary Studio (Grades K-6)

These studio workshops are designed for elementary students to have fun while learning. Each week builds on the previous week. If you can only make it to one class, please tell the artist in advance and she or he will arrange for you to complete your project that day. Please wear your studio clothes, as our classes tend to be a bit on the messy side.

11:00am - 1:00pm

Cost:

Art Club Pass for four Saturday's - $50 per member or $80 per non-member; $20 per individual workshop

Recyclable Sculptures: Out of this world spaceships and rockets created out of all recycled materials! Taught by artist Joey Elam

November 2009

Fiber Art and Printmaking: Create your own custom designs using fabric and basic printmaking techniques. Taught by artist Ashleigh Coleman.

December 2009

Hand Building and Pottery Throwing: Crowns and Goblets. Taught by master potter Jason Dryden.

January 2010

Animal and Human Figure Painting and Drawing: Create charcoal and pastel drawings from live animal and human models, then turn them into paintings! Taught by master painter Scott Gibbs.

February 2010

Mixed Media Collage and Large Scale Self Portraits: Make a collage from materials ranging from paper to photos to paint and also draw a picture of yourself on giant paper! Taught by artist Donivan Hahn.

March 2010

Mosaic Animals: Draw your favorite pet on luan board, we’ll cut it out, and you’ll mosaic the shape! Taught by mosaic artist Jessica McMillan.

April 2010

Large-Scale Cardboard Carousel Sculptures: Sculpt, Paint and Embellish large-scale carousel horse sculptures from cardboard and other unusual materials. Taught by  artist Tiffany Allyn Clark.

May 2010

Pottery Throwing and Hand Building: Use clay to make animal shaped reliefs and throw tall, skinny flowerpots on the wheel. Taught by master potter Jason Dryden.
